During the past two months I’ve been working at an advertising agency called Dieckertschmidt in Berlin. It has been a very exciting experience so far; I’ve learnt a lot especially in terms of software like InDesign and Photoshop, but also on all aspects of how to make a campaign from start to finish. It’s interesting to see how an advertising agency works and how all departments communicate between each other. I definitely improved my level of proficiency having to deal with different projects at the time and short deadlines. I’m halfway through my internship and so far, I’m really enjoying it, everyone is very nice in the company and I feel like a valuable member of the staff more than an intern. I had the opportunity to work on high profile graphic jobs such as Warner bross movie Takeover, RTL radio campaign, build and bams campaign and Bayern 3 advertising.
I do like advertising, but I do miss being more creative and create illustrations because the majority of the thing I do now are realistic pictures, so I don’t get to do a lot of illustrations. I look forward to the next two months I have here and I hope to learn more, If I look back at two months ago when I first started I feel like I knew so little about working in a company and now I feel much more confident even with applying for eventually new positions.
Here are some of the works i've worked on so far
Another exciting new thing that happened is the Christmas Card I had the opportunity to design for Tate. Back in April last year I was selected along with other people to design a card for tate after winning the annual Ual Christmas Card competition. This December the card where finally printed and sold at Tate and NotJustAShop
My card is entitled ‘Window Scene’ and it displays a neighbour in a building celebrating Christmas. With this card I wanted to show how different people spend Christmas. Because you can celebrate it with however you want, like family, friends, even your pets; what matter is that you spend it with someone you love and care about. Christmas always brings me joy and I wanted to express these feelings through bright colours.
I think this was quite a good accomplishment for me and I was really proud I was able to sell my design in a museum shop like Tate.
I also trying to figure out what to do for my Sip, I’ve trying to write down every idea I have about creating a possible app. I know it will probably be very challenging, but I think it is a very interesting thing to learn. I’m currently taking an online course on how to code for making apps so I’m on the right direction n but there still a long way to go, so I’ll keep going and see how thing proceed.

anks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
